SWEDISH CHILDREN SHOWS

You would assume that because Swedish is a small language (under 15 million speakers) and most Swedes speak English (besides kids under 10 years old) that for children shows Sweden just imports and dubs foreign shows but that is far from the case

Many shows are imported and dubbed

but even so Sweden also has many very good shows for children

Astrid Lindgren is by far the most famous writer when it comes to children books and all of her books have been made into either movies or TV series that are very popular among children

BAMSE is another very famous children show made in Sweden about a bear who saves the day by eating a special honey created by his granmother

Sune, a very popular character about a boy and his family filled with tons of humor
Many of the books has been made into movies, a cartoon series was made and even a series for Julkalendern  (see below video) back in 1991

Julkalendern is a Christmas calendar TV series for children that airs once/day between 1–24 December
(Sweden is one of the few countries where Christmas is on the 24th and not 25th)
Every year a new series airs that has some connection with Christmas
