THE SAMI LANGUAGES IS NOT ONE LANGUAGE

Read about it on WIKIPEDIA but in short its a language family spoken by about 34000 Sami, less then half of all Sami

No one knows how many Sami exist but it is commonly accepted that there are about:
20 000-40 000 in Sweden
50 000-65 000 in Norway
About 8 000 in Finland
About 2 000 in Russia

Sami grand prix is a yearly music competition where bands/artists can play if they sing in one of the Sami languages
